Bio - Born 23rd May 1960

Exiled "Yorkshire man" now living in Shropshire

Lived in Ripon, North Yorkshire till 18 - St. Wilfred's RC Primary School, followed by Ripon Grammar School when I passed the 11plus !
Went Aston University in 1978 - 79 Summer in ICL Kidsgrove, Stoke
Year out in 1981 working for ICL Stevenage
After Uni - 1982 - Worked for small software house for 6 years in Sutton Coldfield - Nation, Wilcox & Associates (or was it Nation Jokebox!) - followed by 1988 Sanderson Computers (or what ever they are called now!) till Oct 2002 made redundant (best thing that ever happened!)
Started own IT Consultancy Services company 2002 www.itmcs.co.uk  work 2 or 3 days a week
Married 92 & finally Divorced 06 and have 1 child Simon aged 19.
Now living in Madeley, Telford with new partner Sue. Used to have couple of Pubs in Telford, now have a life !

Birmingham City Fan and Season Ticket holder (and York City as I was brought up watching them)

Ripon Grammar School - 1971 to 1978  with Ricky King, Keith Burnett and the late Barry McDougal - Mr Slingsby and his Goon Shows

Aston University - 1978 to 1982  with Pete Manser, Steve Wright, Neil Bennett, Mervin Short - Happy days in Stafford Tower & VD centre (Vauxhall Dining !)

Started at Harrogate DSC back in '72 remember Stu & Ali Bennett, Karen Brown, Mike Rogerson, Kathy Brindle, Watson twins, Pete Duncan and many more including coaches Dave Smith & Nick Juba who started me on my way....

1979 - 4th in National SC 1500 f/s 16:11.77
1980 - 6th in Olympic trials 1500 f/s
National top 10 for 10 years 1500m and 400 IM (1977-86)
1986 & 87 - Set Masters World Best Time in 4x50 120+ f/s team (1:40.89) with Craig Norrey, Simon Garside & Paul Tainty - always remember Wendy, Jo Swift, Jo Seymour, Heidi Perry, Lido, Andy Small, Glen & Julie, Chris and Paul T, Laura B, Julie M, Robbo, Dunny etc.

Brief mention to Stevenage Swimming Club and then Pete Presbury @ Hatfield SC who kept me going for a year in 1981 - all those early morning sessions (and that Pete Duncan again!)

Represented Yorkshire (1978), Warwickshire (1979-85) and Hertfordshire(1981) on various occasions in inter-county competitions

Back in the water in 2007 after 15 years "retired" - Made the UK top 10 in 200 & 400 f/s for the 45-49 age group - 2nd in 200 f/s at National Masters Oct 2007

2008 National Masters (LC) Manchester 20-22 June - 3rd 200 Breaststroke, 4th 400 IM, 5th 800 f/s, 6th 400 f/s, 6th 200 IM, 11th 100 f/s (too short!)

2008 National Masters (SC) Sheffield 24-26 October 4 best times 200Br, 400fs, 400IM & 800fs + decent times in 200IM & 200fs

2009 National Masters (SC) Sheffield - Best times for 800 f/s 10:21.75 plus best times in 200 IM &100 Breaststroke

2010 Shrewsbury Meet - Overall winner of 50-54 age group (points scored over 5 events)

2010 Staffordshire Masters - 200 f/s Winner 2:22.57

2010 Midland Masters - Leamington 400IM Gold, Ranked No.1 in country for 50-54 age group Plus 4 silvers and a bronze

2010 National Masters - Sheffield 400IM Silver, 1500m 4th + Gold & European & British Records in Mixed 200+ 4x200m F/s relay with Paul Tainty, Kate Chase & Anne Bourne

2011 Shrewsbury Meet - Overall winner of 50-54 age group (points scored over 5 events)

2011 National LC Masters - Leeds - Gold & British Record in Mixed 200+ 4x200 F/s relay with Roland Lee, Kate CHase & Anne Bourne
